Important Points to Keep in Mind When Buying Books for IIT JEE

Students must choose their books for JEE preparation carefully. While excellent books aid in practice, those that are challenging to comprehend or have fewer instances might make it challenging. When choosing the finest JEE books, students must consider the following aspects.

  • Before picking a book, consult with friends and instructors
  • When choosing the books by the authors, look at its rating & reviews
  • Do not rely on the book’s name or renown. Because of the language, some classic literature might still be challenging to comprehend
  • Search for textbooks that are simple to comprehend, contain a lot of instances, and have a lot of numerical tasks to complete
  • Do not purchase numerous books on the same topic. It is recommended that students choose 1 or 2 books for each topic
  • The whole curriculum must be addressed
  • NCERT books must be first on the list

JEE Exam – Easy and Difficult Topics Division

JEE Maths Most Difficult Subjects

Complicated Numbers

The JEE curriculum contains complex number characteristics, modulus and arguments, and different types of complex numbers, even though the conceptual aspect of this issue is relatively straightforward. Some students find the application process difficult. This is the reason this chapter is categorised as one of the most difficult.

Statistics and Probability

The learner must understand all applicational factors and approaches for handling probability and statistics issues. This skill can only be obtained via a great deal of practice. Statistics is another challenging subject. Because statistics and probability entail several formulae, memorising them and implementing the correct procedure to the correct question can assist the candidate in navigating complex issues. These problems need some lateral thinking to solve.

Algebra

This is one of the unavoidable subjects in the JEE Maths curriculum. It is the most weighted of all the subjects. It accounts for around 35percent of the overall 120 points.

JEE Maths Easy Topics

Series & Sequence

With only a few formulae, you can solve the problem immediately and without much difficulty. All you need to ace this subject is a solid conceptual foundation. Sequence and series encompass mathematical and geometric progressions using readily remembered formulae. Students may readily solve the problems if they have explicit knowledge regarding how the sequence is produced.

Matrices

Matrices are the most popular and straightforward subject. Though many stages are involved, you can quickly answer its questions with focus and a few simple processes. However, a lack of focus or a foolish error in any phase of the process might lead us to the incorrect answer. This subject may be mastered by practicing a variety of similar tasks.

JEE Physics Difficult Topics

Mechanics

The most significant subject for JEE is mechanics. The majority of the problems in JEE need conceptual mastery of the Mechanics chapters. Few of the most effective mechanical subjects for JEE are:

  • Newton’s Law of Motion
  • Continuity’s Equation
  • Elasticity
  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Kinematics
  • Rigid Body Dynamics
  • Energy, Work, and Power
  • Gravitation
  • Bernoulli’s theorem

Magnetism

Magnetism is a crucial concept for the JEE exam. This subject usually has a considerable number of questions in JEE Main.

Optics

Optics is indeed a crucial subject for JEE Main. You should go through this subject thoroughly.

Modern Physics

The most significant subject for JEE in Physics is modern physics. In JEE, this chapter comprises typically 12–16-mark questions. The following are the most commonly requested questions:

  • Radioactivity
  • Atomic Structure
  • Photoelectric Effect
  • Nuclear fission
  • X-ray

Oscillation and Waves

You should thoroughly research the subject of Oscillation & Waves. Every year, questions on subjects such as SHM, string, sound waves, the Doppler effect, & Wave Optics is posed in JEE exam.

JEE Physics Easy Topics

Electrostatics

Electrostatics is a long yet straightforward subject. Every year, 3 to 4 questions from this theme are posed.

Current Electricity

Current Electricity is a modest but essential issue. Questions from the subject, such as resistor colour coding, Ohm’s Law, and so on, are asked repeatedly in JEE exam.

Alternating Current & Electromagnetic Induction

Electromagnetic induction & alternating current are other simple topics crucial for JEE Main. Every year, 1 to 2 questions from these two areas are asked.

Electronic and Semiconductor Devices

Semiconductor and electronic devices, units and dimensions, communication, error measurement.  These are minor scoring issues. In JEE Main, one question is generally asked from each of these areas. As a result, you must not overlook them since they may easily earn 16-20 points.

JEE Chemistry Difficult Topics

Equivalent Concept

This is among the most exciting subjects in physical chemistry. In a chemical reaction, the equivalent is the quantity of one element that is equal to or interacts with an indeterminate amount of some other component.

Electrochemistry

“The study of chemical processes using electric currents is known as electrochemistry.” Electrochemistry includes processes such as electrolysis, electromotive force, and oxidation-reduction reactions. The course entails learning about electrical energy & how it may be used in different applications such as fuel cells and batteries. It also covers corrosion prevention concerns.

Ionic Equilibrium

The condition of balance between an ionic substance and its ions is known as ionic equilibrium. When it dissolves or reacts with water, it produces electrically neutral compounds. The ionisation constant, which governs the percentage of dissociation in aqueous systems at any specific temperature, also dictates whether electrical neutrality would be achieved after dissolution with water.

Inorganic Chemistry

Inorganic Chemistry is also another critical component in chemistry since it is a simple idea to score on the JEE. Inorganic reactions are chemical processes in which features combine to generate compounds under various circumstances.

JEE Chemistry Easy Topics

Organic Chemistry

Since it has breadth and intricacy, organic chemistry for JEE is among the most challenging portions of the chemistry curriculum. Organic reactions are chemical changes that occur when atoms combine to create molecules. When presenting accurate answers for organic topics given during examinations, the notion of functional groups is quite important.

Gaseous State

Gases are non-solid substances with no defined form or volume. They spread to cover the space available & so take on the state of their vessel. Namely, they lack defined limits or morphologies, unlike liquids and solids, which prefer to maintain a consistent boundary due to strong intermolecular interactions.

Thermodynamics

The analysis of heat & its relationship to other types of energy is known as thermodynamics. It covers internal energy, temperature, heat transport, and other subjects crucial to comprehend while answering questions on this topic in the JEE test.

The best textbooks for JEE preparation are those that provide clear theory on the ideas as well as a good variety of questions to help you recall those concepts. With only a few months till the JEE Advanced, candidates should polish up on their ideas by reading the books listed above and solving as many numbers as possible together with prior year question papers. IIT JEE preparation requires a great deal of devotion and challenging effort. ‘Textbooks’ are the ultimate lifesaver for all IIT hopefuls.

The Difficulty Level of Paper

The JEE exam is conducted in two levels – Main and Advanced. The conducting bodies and the difficulty level of these two papers are very different. The syllabus for both exams is almost the same, therefore students may use the same books for preparation.

In terms of difficulty, the JEE Advanced exam – as the name implies – is a level higher than the JEE Main exam. Students must first clear the JEE Main exam in order to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. There is a gap between these two papers, allowing students adequate time for preparation, revision, and practice.

Why is it Necessary to Solve Questions and Refer to Books for JEE Preparation?

The JEE exam pattern is quite different from that of school-level exams. Multiple Choice Questions and numerical value questions are asked in the JEE Main and Advanced exams. Solving questions from multiple books can help improve their speed and help them get familiar with the question paper pattern.

JEE Main & Advanced Syllabus

While the JEE Main (and likely JEE Advanced) syllabus appears to be the same, candidates will have the choice of answering any 75 problems (25 questions in each of physics, chemistry, & mathematics), so out of 90 questions (with 30 questions in each of chemistry, mathematics, and physics).

JEE 2024 Study Plan

Here are some steps you can follow to create an effective study plan:

  1. Determine your goals: What do you hope to achieve by taking the JEE? Knowing your goals will help you stay motivated and focused as you prepare for the exam.
  2. Understand the exam format and content: Familiarize yourself with the format and content of the JEE so you know what to expect on exam day. You can find information about the exam on the official JEE website or through study materials and books.
  3. Create a schedule: Break down your study time into manageable chunks and create a schedule that works for you. Be sure to allocate enough time for each subject and build in breaks to rest and recharge.
  4. Review past exams: Solving past JEE exams is a great way to prepare for the test. It will give you a sense of what the exam is like and help you identify areas where you need to focus your studies.
  5. Practice, practice, practice: The more you practice, the better you will become at solving problems and the more confident you will be on exam day. Make sure to allocate a significant amount of time to practice problems and review your solutions.
  6. Seek help if needed: If you are struggling with a particular concept or subject, don’t hesitate to seek help from a tutor, teacher, or study group. It’s better to get help early on rather than letting a lack of understanding hold you back.
